Chairman Goodlatte Demands Answers from Obama on Drone-Kill Program 

Washington, D.C. — Under much pressure, President Obama agreed last night to hand over, to the House and Senate Intelligence Committees, the Justice Department documents pertaining to the legal justification of drone strikes on Americans overseas.  The Obama Administration has stated that they will not share these documents with the House Judiciary Committee, the committee charged with oversight over the Department of Justice and the U.S. Constitution.  House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) issued the following statement:

Chairman Goodlatte: “Oversight of the Department of Justice is a key function of the House Committee on the Judiciary, as is the protection of the constitutional rights of U.S. citizens.  It is imperative that the Justice Department send these memos and any other related materials to the Judiciary Committee for review.”
